The TV-show includes a short interview with Fredrik and Björn talking about a gig way back with John Fogerty.
The two tracks named above was performed as they should, with a couple of days remaining until the tour... they were great!"
With the album »Blue«, the first single, »Mighty Good Time«, a couple of TV-shows and a complete new set Willy Clay Band are looking forward to kick off the tour next week. Willy Clay Band now returns to some venues they've played before during the tour. Björn shines up when Katalin in Uppsala is named. "It's like coming home playing at Katalin. Maybe it's the venue I've played the most, at least among the confirmed venues, but of course I've also played alot in Norrtälje both with Willy Clay Band, Chip (Taylor) and Sixpack Holiday."
"I think the gig at Debaser (Slussen) Tuesday January 26th will rock. Kicking off a tour is an odd experience, the tension is in the air, alluring and a thrill...", Tony adds "Yeah, it's something very special!" before the conversation ends... The band is about to rehears, promising... isn't it?

Some words about the band from the media... pt 1
Tornedalen's music belongs to the world! Extract translated from Norrbottens-Kuriren by Per Carlsson, 10:07 2009-11-19
It was a knock-out when Willy Clay Band entered the stage. Amazing, cool, country from up North. Kiruna and Junosuando may be the origin, but from there to Nashville it isn't far.
You could say that the Willy Clay Band belongs to the world. You could say that the songs we heard on Friday was tight in the same obvious way as iron ore pellets rolling towards Narvik and further out to the world. Or the iron that rolls out of the steel mills to be cars, guitars and roofing sheets.
It was a joy to experience. The vocals, the guitars - I got chills like in the past - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds... I quickly lost judgement. The analytical capacity disappeared and was replaced with a strong sense of "here and now".

About the band... pt 2
Much of what was great on the debut album is recaptured on »Blue« Extract translated from Sydsvenskan by Per Carlsson, 10:44 2009-11-19
Many songs on the album recapture the Eagles, especially those (a minority) in which Björn Pettersson takes the solo harmony, vocally he is close to Glenn Frey; listen for example, to "True Lies". But even when Tony Björkenvall frontlines these songs are better descibed as "sun kissed vocal harmonies" and "laid-back country rock" that is better on caressing than disturbing.
However, there is so much of the discrete charm of soft rock, mostly in the music but in some of the lyrics as well.
The show last night made a huge impact on me... What a gig! The stage lights was stunning, the atmosphere thrilling and the Willy Clay Band as good as ever! Per Carlsson, 22:59 2009-11-01
Several months of hard work is greatly rewarded with the show Willy Clay Band offered yesterday, an hour and a half of pure energy... A fascinating event.
Classics from »Rebecca drive« and »E.P.« were performed along with new earrings from the amazing »Blue« album in front of a sold-out Kiruna Folkets Hus.
Thank you all for joining the show, helping us building up the mood!
And to all of you who did not get a ticket... Hold out, more dates are planned at the time of writing!
Chip Taylor about the upcoming album »Blue«
Here is probably the first »Blue« review from the Yonker of New York himself... Chip Taylor! Per Carlsson, 09:00 2009-10-03
For me, it was The Louvin Brothers, then Lefty & Hank.. then Johnny Cash & Elvis.. then Waylon, Willie, John Prine, Gram & Emmylou, Lucinda & the other cool alt-country renegades – artists that broke ground. The Willie Clay Band fits right in that line. And the good thing is they’re “radio friendly”! So, again - if there’s any justice – we’ll hear them on the airwaves! What a concept – good music on the airwaves!! Holy Shit!!
Just listen to »Most Of All« from their great new album, »Blue«. That is one AWESOME song. Sure it’s commercial. But it’s also heartfelt & unique.. a one-of-a-kind. We don’t hear a lot of those these days. It was written by lead singer, Tony Björkenvall, who is not only brilliant at that craft - but also one of the most unique & soulful alt-country singers on the planet!

New album! »Blue«
Willy Clay Band has a new album out! »Blue« is produced by Ollie Olson (Robyn, Christian Walz, Oh Laura, etc.) and is released on 28th October. Håkan Olsson (translation Per Carlsson), 23:10 2009-10-01
With help from Olson, Willy Clay Band have carefully renewed itself. Basically, it's still the melodic rock with country and Americana influences, but Willy Clay Band has shaped their very own niche. A fresh and timeless sound. And certainly one can imagine american models, the guys in Willy Clay Band are probably the first to acknowledge that. Yet, here's a vibe that clearly defines Willy Clay Band and nothing else.
A few days ago, "Mighty Good Time«, the first single, was released for radio and MySpace along with other sites.
Willy Clay Band holds a release concert at Kiruna Folkets Hus on Saturday, October 31st.
